The Double Feature: Six Degrees of Hell and House of Horrors: Gates of Hell

Let us go head and combine both these movies because let us face it they are pretty much the same.  Though apparently there is another House of Horrors movie based off of the same place this one took on.  How can I explain?  Hmmm.  Well both movies take place in an extreme haunt in which a black altar is placed and demons come from them.  Pretty much it.

Six Degrees of Hell

This was the first I watched.  It has been a while but I still remember the movie.  First off, you have Corey Feldman as one of the main actors.  This is the start.  He is interviewing someone about a massacre that took place in an extreme haunt and what happened.  The former owner of this haunt used to purchase his props from a psychic lady who he does not want to listen too.  That is pretty dumb.  Anyway he purchase a Black Altar from the lady because why make one when you can get a cursed one anyway.  So, to continue on once the altar was placed in the haunt bad stuff starts to happen.  Hell on opening night the cast members get possessed and start killing guess.  The guess cry for help and beg for the cast to stop but everyone thinks it is part of the haunt.  That really sucks.  So after this mass murdering spree the blood and death just supercharges the altar and makes it worst.  The attraction gets shutdown but then there is the twist.  Corey Feldman was interviewing the person in order to open the haunt again and unleash the wrath of the black altar.

House of Horrors: Gates of Hell

This was a cheesy lower budget film with many similarities.  Anyways at the beginning of the movie a fire inspector comes to make sure the attraction is safe.  This inspector is a religious man who gets mocked for his beliefs by the manager.  The manager leaves the haunt for lunch and the inspector is now left alone.  The inspector does his job and it leads him to a room with a Black Altar.  He places his fingers on it and then…a demon chases him.  The demon catches up at launches the inspector across the haunt and pins him to a wall where he is ignited and burned to ash leaving a burnt cross in his place.  Throughout the movie you find out that there is a psychic girl who works in this haunt.  Also the Black Altar has a guardian who must put it back together in order for the demons to wreak havoc on the humans.  Well the guardian dresses up in costumes and just kills people.  Mainly hot women.  In fact one of his kills he shoved a grenade up a girls ass and let it blow her up in half.  The psychic girl goes to a forest to talked to what appears to be a hag that looks very strongly like a demon.  Not strange.  Dumb Bitch.  Anyways eventually a priest who gave up his priesthood to write about evil wants to sacrifice himself in order to stop the Black Altar from opening.  Well he does and you find out that his innocent blood opens the portal to hell.  Though this priest is a drinker, tried to commit suicide multiple times, and lives in a strip joint.  Innocent?? I think not, but they said he was and when he opens the portal the psychic girl decides to shoot herself in the head because that is what one does when Hell is released on Earth.

Both of these movies are very similar in many aspects.  This also brings a newer more frequently used set up for horror movies.  Not as bad as found footage but pretty bad of Extreme Haunts that are really haunted. Though they both had a low budget I believe “Six Degrees of Hell,” was done better than, “House of Horrors: Gates of Hell.”  But both pulled off an entertaining movie.  I did enjoy them both.  If you are looking for gore than this will have it.  Nudity is not prevalent, except in “House of Horrors: Gates of Hell,”  where a blonde with nice titties takes a picture of herself topless for the cast of the haunt in a mask.  All in all definitely entertaining.
