I found this movie searching for Sarah Brightman. I was looking for her to see what movies/shows she had done and the movie appeared under her name. I clicked on it thinking, “What the hell is this about?” Thank goodness I did because this has become one of my guilty pleasures.
This movie takes place in the future where people’s organs are harvested at a commercial level do to the fact that there was a period of time where organ failure was a predominant cause of death. It focuses on a Repoman named Nathan and his daughter Shilo. He lives with his daughter Shilo in a huge house. Nathan’s wife passed after having Shilo but Nathan thought it was his fault because she was sick and he was looking to cure her from a disease which there friend Rotti Largo did not want because he was the owner of the biggest organ selling enterprise of the century making him rich beyond words. However, Rotti was a jealous man and Nathan’s wife used to date him tell she met a younger Nathan who was an excellent surgeon/doctor. Rotti’s jealousy got so cruel that he poisoned Nathan’s wife so Nathan would feel miserable. This caused a scandal because Rotti new Nathan was experimenting so he blackmailed Nathan into becoming a Repoman who was a legal assassin. Repomen’s job is to repossess organs that were lone to people who did not pay there debt. So, a Repoman kills these people to claim the organ to be reused by the company. Nathan hated this job because it made him a monster and because of how horrible the world was he did not want his daughter to leave the home because of fear for her.
Issues between Shilo and Nathan occurred because though she new her dad loved her she wanted to be free of his bonds. Well as the plot goes on Shilo meets a graverobber who harvest a drug called Zydrate from the dead. Zydrate is a drug that is probably like Morphine on steroids and is illegal to sell unless you are a registered supplier. It is used during surgery for an an anesthetic and for just getting high. This new person brings Shilo out of her home so she can experience the cruelty of the world first hand. Well the movie continues and Rotti who hates his fucked up children wants Shilo to take over his company because he believes that Shilo should have been his daughter and not Nathan’s but in order to do this she must kill her father the monster Repoman.
This movie was excellent in my opinion. It was a horror/sci-fi/musical that blends together exquisitely into a very visually stunning feature. The characters are unique and fucked up in there own special ways and the violence is prominent. I was very happy to find this movie and enjoyed it greatly.
