The Hallow

This movie directed by Adam Schindler is an interesting take on evil of the faire folk in Ireland.  The movie takes place in a wooded Ireland.  Where a couple and there son moved to in order to get away from the hustle of life.  It contain a decent story and many deranged creatures that brought mythology into the light.

Adam and his wife Clare move to a remote area in Ireland.  Adam loves venturing out into the wild with his son and dog.  They come upon an abandon area where they see the remains of a deer with a black ooze pouring from its wounds.  Adam takes a sample of this slime in order to test it.  While he was about his wife was visited by a neighbor named Colm who tells her to tell her husband to stay away from the woods because it is dangerous. That the woods contain baby eaters and if you do not venture into there territory they will not come to yours.  Well she ignores their request and her husband contains to travel to the woods.  One night their baby began to cry.  This child was terrified and when Clare went to help she found more of the ooze.  This is after she had taken iron from her window.  Needless to say the movie continues on with more strange events occurring.  Then you are introduced to the dwellers of the woods.  These deformed creatures attach Adam and Clare and try to steal there baby.  A battle ensues while Adam and Clare desperately fight off the creatures of the woods to protect their baby.

This movie was done well, though some times I could not understand what was being said because of the actors accents.  The creatures were creepy and the twist were present.  There was no nudity, but mild violence.  The movie was more psychological than anything else. Like a paranormal activity but with creatures not ghosts.  All in all a good movie.
