Hi guys. It has been awhile. I do have some upcoming blogs but today I am going to talk to you about a Chinese horror called Rigor Mortis. This was very impressive to me and I did enjoy it thoroughly. This movie focuses on a retired actor who is moving to a very haunted apartment building into a room of the most violent ghost’s in a building.
Chin Siu Ho is an actor who lost everything . He lost his job and family in a tragedy. He moves to an apartment complex to live and try to forget. Upon entering his home he finds incense burning in which the property manager responds to it by saying, “That it is used to appease the spirits of the apartment. The property manager then leaves Chin to his new home.
Chin reflex on his tragic past and decides while sitting at the table that he will kill himself. He ties his neck to a rope in which he jumps off a chair to hang himself. While gasping for air a young woman appears in front of him bloodied and jumps into his body as a way to possess him. An older neighbor hears the commotion and runs to Chin’s apartment. He attacks Chin in his robe using blood to write Chinese caricatures on Chin’s forehead. As the neighbor battles Chin he drags Chin to a mirror. The spirit while staring at a reflection of itself possessing Chin the neighbor breaks the mirror freeing Chin. This is the opening sequence of the movie.
This movie delves into a battle between good an evil. The characters consist of Chin, the neighbor who is magician of good magic, a dark magician of evil magic, an albino, a single mother, an old lady who would do anything for her husband, evil twin ghost who became violent after being raped and beaten in there life, a spirit vampire, and ghouls controlled by evil. It is a dark movie with martial arts and magic. But the final battle was one of my favorite scenes in the movie. This horror was well made and had a little bit of everything. Action, suspense, and above all horror.
