I do not know why it took me so long to write about this movie. This is one of the few movies that have caught me off guard. That is relatively hard to do. This movie fucked me up for a night, not because of the violence but that ending which put me and my buddy who watched it in a state of, “Ugh,” I just threw up a little in my mouth.

This movie is broken down to the simplest premise there is, kids getting murdered at, “Sleepaway Camp.” To really fuck you up one of the most disturbing characters in the movie is the Aunt of a girl named Angela. Angela was a twin and I say was because at the beginning of the movie on the opening scene her brother and her were swimming in a body of water when a speed boat zooms by killing her brother. This brings a difficult beginning because in the first scene a child dies. Anyway fast forward and Angela is to be sent to Camp Arawak by her unusual Aunt who is just plain creepy.

Upon the arrival of Angela you get introduced to the players in the movies, this includes counselors, the pretentious bitch who thinks she is all that, and a bunch of horny boys. Angela not used to this many younger people in her life seems a bit shy and awkward but she has been shuttered from the outside world by her Aunt. Well the campers and counselors start up with there antics and bullying like what is expected at camp but this year it is different. This year there is a psycho on the loose killing both staff and children. This is not a lie literary children. The kids at this camp seem like they might only be 12 or 13 years old. One man gets boiled alive and another girl actually gets murdered by what I remember as a curling iron that is on be shoved up repeatedly in this young ladies nether regions. Yeah fucked up. This is one of the most disturbing, creepy, and disgusting horror movies I have seen and believe me I have seen worst.

In order to further be tortured by this movie my friend and I talk about it from time to time. “Remember that time we saw, ‘Sleepaway Camp,’ on deployment. I actually could not sleep that night.” Believe it when I said it is not the horror that got me, but it was the twist. Years later one lucky day, when my city finally had a horror convention, guess who I found? Believe me when I say that she is a very attractive woman and still looks good till this day, I found Felissa Rose. She played Angela in, “Sleepaway Camp.” She sat there in the hotel peacefully waiting to have people to come visit her and here I was this was the first time I ever been to a convention and I am starstruck by her. I stared at her which probably creep her the fuck out but besides being starstruck I was kind of creep out myself. Pretty much because of the ending of that movie. So, I am sorry for creeping you out Felissa Rose but I was in the same boat. Well that about wraps it up for me. The terror that is “Sleepaway Camp.”
