Is this a horror? You would have to make this decision. I am talking about TAG the Japanese movie. This is a surreal adventure into the human psyche and our constant battle against destiny. Is it our choice or is it set into life and we just have to deal with it.

The opening scene begins with a group of females on a bus heading to school. A young girl named Mitsuko writing poetry as her classmates laugh and enjoy there trip with pillow fighting. Alright give me a break this is a movie that is unlike many before it. Mitsuko drops her pen and as she goes to pick it up the wind picks up and cuts everyone on the bus in half except for Mitsuko. Realizing what happened Mitsuko begins to run away from this unseen force. As she runs she enters into another realm in which everyone is alive and do not know what happened but this is short lived as the teachers massacre the students. This story centers on our protagonist whose name changes through each new realm she enters where many die in insane grotesque ways and she remains the survivor. A battle of fate per se and taking control of ones life.

This movie is one that will make you think, “What is going on?” But as it progresses and ends it becomes a philosophical event in which one must decide should you fight your destiny or accept it and how far will you go to know the truth. It is an excellent surreal adventure with graphic violence. Is it a horror? In my belief it is because I want to be in control of my own destiny and not have the world fall apart due to my choices.
