After I delved into “Repo! The Genetic Opera,” of course I looked it up on IMDB and found several of the actors from that movie were cast in this movie and Terrance Zdunich who played the infamous graverobber in “Repo!” Also played Lucifer in this horror musical.

The movie has three story lines that fall in sync with each other in Hell. Where the Devil tells of there sins and can save them if they do not fail his temptations. Each story and temptation falls in line with one another such as: 1. The thief who is tempted by jewels in this after life. 2. The girl who loves hanging with the bad boys no matter how bad they treat her. 3. The suicide victim who blames himself for the lost of his child. Each victim falls into an Aesop Fable and they must overcome it. The thief is compared by Hobo the Clown who is one of the demon’s of Hell to the little doggie who saw her reflection in the lake. She like the victim wanted to have all the jewelry cause it made her beautiful but when she faced her reflection in the lake she aggravated that her reflection looked like she had more jewelry then herself. The doggie jumps into the lake and drowns itself trying to grab the jewels while the woman gambled all of her belongings away till she was stripped of everything and beaten for her choice. The second was tale was the Scorpion and the Toad. The second victim always liked a bad boy and followed him everywhere. This caused her to lose her life in the real world and in Hell she followed the Scorpion once again even though she new he was bad. She catches him cheating but still volunteers herself to be his partner in a sideshow. He then pricks her or just kills her with his knife. The final victim follows an illusion of his son to Lucifer’s place where he is confronted. He admits that in a way he wanted his son gone and therefore Lucifer saves his soul.

This movie is definitely a good movie. The music is well done and the characters are imaginative. There is a sequel to this movie that I have not yet seen and hopefully I will one day. The premise is unique and it is a good find for a unique exploration of Hell.
