Directed by Tom Woodruff Jr. and written by Michael Hayes and Brian Lubocki “Fire City: End of Days,” (FCEOD) is a unique fantasy horror. Where in a strange way the bad guys are getting eliminated by an unknown entity. This movie focuses on Demons who are suffering because they cannot feed on the misery of humans.
The main protagonist of this movie is a demon named Atum Vine. In the demon realm he is known as a procurer. He procures food for the other demons in his building. Demons in this story feed off of misery, pain, anger, and most other destructive forces of human nature in order to survive. However, a procurer does not hunger that is why he is perfect for providing food to others. Well the demons have lived with humans for years and as a human we cannot see these demons. If they fly they look like a bird if they walk around they look like humans. There is a lot of misery and suffering in the building where Vine lives with his brethren but then one day after he stopped an eleven year old girl from being raped by her stepfather something changed. An interpreter a neutral demon who can read fortunes and is almost like a elder found that something changed in the human realm. The humans in this building no longer felt misery or pain or any negative feelings so the other demons could no longer feed. The demons tried to influence the humans be it by stripping in front of a couple and making out with the couple while the other watched or just tried to piss them off. This still did not work. Atum Vine who is scene as the most powerful goes and fines the little girl and becomes friends with her after he reveals himself to her. However, he cannot figure out why the humans no longer suffer and the demons become more enraged.
The movie provides a unique perspective killing off evil but still making you feel bad for the evil to suffer from starvation. The demons never killed any human but just fed off of their negative emotions so maybe that is why you feel bad when they start dying because they truly haven’t committed a wrong act they let the humans hurt themselves through abuse and molestation. I guess you could be angry cause the demons do not stop humans from hurting one another but they are not making humans do it anyway. It is an interesting story that can be hard to follow from time to time but still a movie of its own breed.
