The Exorcism Of Emily Rose

Well it is a cold day snowed in so what should I do watch horror movies.  That is always a good plan.  Anyway after a much needed organizational I lost my notes for the movies I watch so I am starting from scratch again.  I decided to watch a movie from 2005 that was based on a true story.  The exorcism of Emily Rose.  I hope you enjoy it.

Based on a true story of a trial against a priest for Negligent Homicide the movie The Exorcism of Emily Rose, is a series of flashbacks from experiences of personnel involved in the case of Emily Rose.  The story takes place in a court where the trial has been set.  Though not full of jump scares a lingering uneasy feeling is the backdrop of this movie.  Yes there is mild violence and horrific imagery but the uneasy feeling you get from this movie is what drives you to watch on.  Emily Rose was a farm girl who went to the city for college in which she believe she became possessed.  The movie follows her story from multiple perspectives and makes you question and choose is it supernatural or scientific and let’s you make that decision while watching.  Experts witnesses called to trial talk of how she was epileptic and possibly psychopathic, while the church presents a very different perspective.  Emily believes she is possessed by six demons:  Judas, Nero, Belial, Legion, Cain, and Lucifer himself and asked for help by the church.  Father Moore performs an exorcism.  Whose fault was it that Emily suffered.  You must decide.

This movie makes you question many beliefs.  It asks you to believe in something more in this world.  It also makes you wonder if truly the devils biggest trick was to make you believe he does not exist.  This battle of good and evil, science and supernatural is an excellent journey into faith.
